Though this sleazy, somewhat cheeky film about real-life serial killer Robert 'Willy' Pickton may turn off some viewers, its well-executed gore, great set design, and a potentially career-best performance from Jake Busey offer much to appreciate.

Portraying Pickton as a damaged, often confused sociopath, Jake Busey does his best with the material, bringing an erratic, fevered portrayal to a difficult, somewhat flimsily written role. But there are few other positives.

Pig Killer comes off exploitive and wanting to shock which it fails at throughout.
