Based on a graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux -- who here takes on directional duties -- this action flick is under no pretensions about what type of movie it is.

King of Killers is a swift and bloody actioner that goes in a surprisingly unexpected direction. Frank Grillo steals the show with a deliciously exaggerated performance.

... what should be a clear-and-cut action extravaganza finds itself weighed down by the insertion of several emotional stakes whose compounded efforts make the journey more of a slog than a driving force.

King of Killers is a terribly conceived mess with bad acting and a nonsensical plot about an assassin overlord pitting other assassins against each other. For an action movie, there are too many scenes of people having boring and witless conversations.
