No one will ever confuse Lou Ferrigno with Daniel Day-Lewis, but he certainly has a presence.

Viewers who enjoy a movie for the gore will struggle to find joy here. The gore looks maddeningly amateurish. The practical effects occasionally look interesting, but they mostly come across as cheap.

The Hermit walks the middle of the road in a deeply unsatisfying way.

You’d be mistaken in assuming that this is just another country bumpkin slasher flick.
