This time the gore is mostly offscreen. Which makes you wonder why the even bothered.

A fresh director, John Carl Buechler, has actually given this mostly dreadful series a kiss of life, albeit a gory one.

Finally, after dismembering semi-innocent kids unopposed for six features films, Jason meets some Drama and Conflict. And you just should see them spurt all over the screen.

The movie is by no means a horror classic, but it goes about its business with a commendable forthrightness.
