Storyline

An impossible city is built up out of enormous rotating rings, steering the lives of its lonely inhabitants. New Babylon is a visual trip through an oppressive night in which contemporary, individualistic life is reflected in a circular metropole.

The problems and their tangents provoked by The New Babylon could fill a book. That is contribution enough. I urge everyone to examine this detaining film for himself.

The film has all of the vigor and pure cinematic originality of Abel Gance's Napoleon without all the pretensions to greatness shouldered by that film.
