Casas has an undeniable nose for middle-class peccadilloes, but tone is everything.

Though utterly shocking and bleak, Caye Casas’ The Coffee Table is a unique standout, that will have audiences talking for years to come.

The Coffee Table perfectly balances its tone to make its horrific subject matter not only bearable but darkly comedic. Incredible performances further contribute to the unique tone that is masterfully struck by Casas.

Not for the faint-hearted, The Coffee Table breaks the boundaries of being a simple horror film or a dark comedy, paying off for those brave enough to watch. A wonderfully executed film that is equal parts distressing and devilishly funny.
