Argentinian director Marco Berger strikes a nice balance in The Astronaut Lovers, between dialogue-heavy scenes filled with coded ripostes, and quiet, tension-filled scenes that examine only the actors’ faces but convey so much.

Smart and very funny, this romcom from Argentina takes an audacious premise and spins it with snappy dialog that playfully references a wide range of movies along with the titular metaphorical running gags.

There are those who may be compelled to call this absolute banger repetitive or inconsequential. I'll just go ahead and call it wonderful.
