AKA doesn’t add any new wrinkles to the undercover cop genre; but Florent Astolfi’s cinematography is suitably moody, Etienne Forget’s score provides texture and drive, and Lenoir and Dalibert (who co-wrote the script) keep the conflicts clear.

(Dalibert) and Lenoir spend a lot of time developing their characters. It’s not especially deep, but we get a good sense of everyone’s position, perspective, and personality. And it all unfolds with a reasonably satisfying amount of suspense.

While the plot is familiar and doesn't offer anything out of the ordinary, the storytelling and thrilling action sequences make AKA an entertaining watch and worth checking out for diehard fans of the genre.
