This is a charming, knowingly silly comedy creature feature

A whole lot more thoughtful than it had the slightest reason to be.

The cast here is good. The film is a bit silly, but they all go 100% into it with all they can to make this a worthwhile sequel.

The same type of humor is used for this direct-to-video sequel, which is bland enough to distract from the otherwise thrilling nature of the underground leviathans.
