A cheer-out-loud crime saga in which hyper-violence has the gracefulness of dance. It has a lead character so magnetic that even its story’s messiest, most convoluted parts remain fixed around [Rajinikanth's] orbit, as he goes supernova once more.

Kanagaraj’s craft is evident throughout Coolie, but the film ultimately flourishes on the enduring charisma of Rajinikanth.

There is this very funny Michael Schrute dialogue in The Office: "Sometimes I'll start a sentence, and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way." Coolie feels just that.

Coolie adds little to culture and conversation, working largely only to encourage idolization.
