Momoa and Bautista, who respectively play a loose-cannon cop and disciplinarian special forces operative, have fun with the action sequences and put some genuine effort into the fractured sibling dynamic.

Soto blends these bits of comedy, drama, action, suspense, and style into a movie that's a real banger. Here's hoping we get a sequel.

This lean, mean, R-rated action machine is better than you'd think since Momoa and Bautista take the time, between fights and jokes, to examine the bruised places in the hearts of these half brothers. You feel for them, and that makes all the difference.

Extremely violent, predictably plotted and more than occasionally puerile it may be, it is hard though to dislike a movie with such swagger, chutzpah and the most evocative use of Air Supply since 2010’s Animal Kingdom.
