Critics consensus

“A small film that elicits a huge emotional response, Ghostlight is a deeply moving and superbly acted meditation on grief.”

This deeply moving, highly intelligent film is about love, loss, grief, regret, repressed emotions, healing and the value of human connection. Its star should receive an Oscar nomination.

It deals with [grief and loss] in a really fresh way.

S

Sara Michelle Fetters

RTMovieFreak.comJul 1, 2024

Directors Kelly O’Sullivan (who also provides the exquisite screenplay) and Alex Thompson have delivered a hushed, confidently devastating, and ultimately hopeful drama that never follows a traditional path.

Ghostlight is my pick for Best Picture of 2024. It stayed with me and never left. Absolutely brilliant.
