Storyline

Ex-policeman Rollo Lee is sent to run Marwood Zoo, the newly acquired business of a New Zealand tycoon. In order to meet high profit targets and keep the zoo open, Rollo enforces a new 'fierce creatures' policy, whereby only the most impressive and dangerous animals are allowed to remain in the zoo. However, the keepers are less enthusiastic about complying with these demands.

Critics consensus

“Fierce Creatures reunites A Fish Called Wanda 's talented ensemble for a comedy that, while not without its moments, suffers from diminishing returns.”

It lacks the hair-trigger timing, the headlong rush into comic illogic, that made Wanda so special. But it does have a charm of its own, and moments of wicked inspiration.

The spirited cast of Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline and Monty Pythonites John Cleese and Michael Palin is willing. But this tossed-together trifle about an unassuming British zoo taken over by a money-mad Murdochian media mogul is weak.

Chock full of wacky misunderstandings and bawdy innuendo...
