The male actors seem less comfortable in their roles, but, on the whole, this adaptation works a charm.

It's a little rushed but an overall effective telling of this story

This may not be the very best version of Sense and Sensibility, but it’s certainly a good one. Much loving attention has been paid to all the details that went into this film, from costumes to hair, and the cast serves the material well.

It isn’t better than the 1995 Ang Lee version, nor does it attempt to reach that level, but the acting, costumes, settings, and changes (including a Black-led cast) make it a worthy addition to the Austen adaptation canon.
