Nothing happens in "Eephus" and it’s still one of the best damn baseball movies ever made.

Eephus lets that sense of finality hum as background noise to a low-key comedy built around an Altman-esque ensemble of colorful characters who drift in and out of the spotlight as they day progresses.

This movie is something of an eephus: a long, slow, looping thing that's meant to distract and delay... It's about community, and it's kind of beautiful.

In a deliberately slow celebration of quiet moments, Eephus romanticizes America's favorite pastime with a poignant, bittersweet message about the passing of time.
