Pillow Talk

It may not be a memorable film, but throughout the bleak January morning of the Press pre-view I found myself wearing a happy grin. And that is considerable praise.

The most exciting thing about it is that, under the surprisingly sophisticated direction of Michael Gordon, Rock Hudson undergoes the metamorphosis from stock leading man to one of the best light comedians in the business.

Pillow Talk is a sleekly sophisticated production that deals chiefly with s-e-x.

It’s impossible to imagine this movie not being presented in CinemaScope, as the widescreen format is integral in supporting the imaginative use of split-screen techniques.
