Mathews has a deceptively subtle voice as a director, providing a supportive platform more than insisting on cinematic results.

The brilliance of Roleplay is very likely the same reason some won't resonate with it. The stories that come to life here are messy and true, less black-and-white and more filled with kaleidoscopic grays.
