Efforts involving miniature work and practical effects sat well; I just wish this movie didn’t feel so much like a fish out of water.

There are those shark tales where it's clear there was no desire for uniqueness, causing the final product to get lost at sea, so to speak. Thankfully, Fear Below isn't, or rather it shouldn't be, one of those movies.

Fear Below is a suspenseful, well acted and directed little thriller of the old-school variety.

The characterizations were spot-on.
