Despite being steeped in familiar elements, this is a very charming, heartwarming film. Throughout the runtime I could feel my mouth forming a big silly grin.

This is a wonderful, uplifting film based on a big-hearted novel by one of Australia’s most gifted writers. It’s about love, friendship, kindness, pride and hope.

Runt is a gorgeous tale about overcoming obstacles and being true to who you are. Kind lies, gentle affirmations, and deserved come-uppance for the bad guys will make any audience declare “Thank ewe,” to John Sheedy and his wondrous world.

A delightful tale of dogged determination, dastardly behaviour and the odd minor disaster, Runt's girl-and-her-canine-companion not only win the hearts of two nations, but also cinema-going audiences of all ages.
