Beneath the shocking gear-shifts and dry one-liners of Twinless lies a tender story about two lonely souls searching for a companion to lighten life’s burdens – someone to do the food shopping with, to hold the other end of a fitted sheet.

A cute, warm-hearted indie darling this is not. Twinless is an uncomfortable, pitch-black comedy you won’t be able to look away from, with a career-best performance from Dylan O’Brien.

Sweeney’s film rides on a clever concept, and there’s a level of amusement to be had from trying to find justification for Dennis’ increasingly antisocial actions.

Twinless finds its place within an independent cinema that dares to disrupt without raising its voice and to consider affection as something as complex as it is dangerous. [Full review in Spanish]
