Writer-director Thane Economou takes an aggressively cheeky approach to the saga of Kapoor’s involvement, in the process undercutting what he clearly intends to be an empathetic portrait of both the doctor and his patient.

'Trust Me, I’m a Doctor' is too generic a production, and too misguided in its approach, to have any serious awards prospects but hopefully [Linda] Hamilton, at least, will turn some heads and top new shortlists for other, better projects.
