Linklater repays the debt in a beautiful film that eschews granular analysis of the art for a broad celebration of Frenchness at its most proudly awkward.

Nouvelle Vague is more than just an in-joke for cineastes -- it’s an invitation to make something alive and radical that pisses off the right people.

I really enjoyed it.

Featuring clever writing and an incredible cast, Nouvelle Vague delightfully captures Godard’s rebellious, often unpredictable, directing style, which is endlessly fascinating to watch.
