I'm Fine

This is a refreshingly realistic story about resilience, familial love and adversity.

A little rough around the edges certainly, but spirited and authentic, this is a low-budget African American indie that has a kinship with the Dardenne brothers’ brand of breadline urgency.

Kali produces an effortlessly sympathetic central turn and the movie, shot along the empty streets of 2020 and resolutely “about” the pandemic, perfectly captures the odd sci-fi strangeness of that near history.

Unfortunately, you leave the film feeling that you want more.
