This is an upsetting film with an abrupt ending, but the feeling of despondence it imposes upon the audience is part of the point.

With one foot planted in documentary exposé and the other in coming-of-age drama, the film falls short of satisfying the demands of either genre.

It's one of the most powerfully written of the recent international films with potent performances to boot.

This is a film devoid of sentimentality and compromise, yet profoundly human. [Full review in Spanish]
