Critics consensus

“Drenched in gonzo old-school gore effects and stylishly crafted action, Onslaught unleashes a story that ultimately lacks the substance and primal fury its title promises.”

Onslaught technically expands the world of The Guest, yet it also cuts its human interest down to a couple acres of dusty trailer park

The production value feels like it's very much there. I see a whole lot of confident filmmaking, but because I'm such a big fan of Adam Wingard and the team that he often works with, I expected more from a movie like this.

I was more than happy to watch Wingard get down in the mud and craft abhorrent sequences of action-heavy cruelty.

"Onslaught" is air quotes in search of a movie.
