Storyline

A smooth-talking ad executive attributes his remarkable success with women to his ability to manipulate their emotions from the moment he first meets them. When his teenage nephew drops in for a visit, he soon learns that his approach isn't as foolproof as he thought when he attempts to teach the boy how to pick up women.

Critics consensus

“The movie could have benefited from a more experienced director, but a great cast and script overcome any first time jitters the director may have had.”

A fascinating, uneven first feature from the young writer-director Dylan Kidd.

Scott's low-key portrayal makes Roger interesting.

Roger is not a character we are really meant to like, but how much one likes this movie may ultimately depend on the extent to which you are able to remain in the same room with him.

The performances are absolutely superb, and that's where the film wants to live.
