The forecast calls for grim. Also, very funny. Rather bloody, too, thanks to director Jorma Taccone’s extreme take on the gore-as-entertainment genre, although the entire project is elevated by the cast and the writing.

A stellar cast, a few laughs and some stylish filmmaking can’t quite make up for Over Your Dead Body’s lack of dimension and off-putting tone.

Steered by ex-sketch comics, including Jorma Taccone of The Lonely Island/Saturday Night Live and comedy duo BriTANicK, it’s a little too unrefined, with some dead-on-arrival scenes that throw you out of the fun.

It's hilarious, it's intense and it's deeply messed up. Go watch it immediately.
