Writers Caterina Salvadori and Ciro Zecca manage to fit in a few surprises, overthrowing our expectations along the way to the anticipated ending.

We’ve seen rom-coms in which the leads meet under false pretenses, fall for each other, discover the truth, and then come together again more times than it’s possible to count.

I don’t recommend giving The Love Scam a watch. It’s not funny or romantic, thereby failing to even qualify as a basic romcom. On top of that, it’s glorifying and romanticizing stalking, that too on the first day of the new year. What a party pooper.
