Kindness as a superpower

In Abhishan Jeevinth's perceptive vision, kindness is no less than a superpower. The film marks the arrival of a major cinematic voice in Jeevinth, one rooted in hope and optimism.

Tourist Family is a bit unrealistic and the movie is too long. However, this good-natured drama (about a Sri Lankan family living as undocumented immigrants in India) has a positive message about kindness and second chances in life.

The film, like life, is peppered with humour, serious events, struggles and yes, the triumph of good over evil. The trope may not be new, but how it has been narrated and presented is.
