There is a ton of heart and a lot of lush looks in 10Dance’s portrayal of the burgeoning romantic bond between two pro ballroom dancers.

Despite all the incredibly serious-looking faces throughout this film, it's hard to take it, well, seriously.

Playing more like an extended warm-up routine, “10 Dance” leaves the floor in anticipation of a sequel that it hasn’t earned. As dance movies go, this one doesn’t make it past the qualifiers.

As an adaptation, 10Dance understands the heart of Inoue Satoh’s manga, and as a film, director Keishi Otomo understands precisely how to craft a journey that embraces the audience.
