Sutherland is a strong presence, clearly relishing a return to the action arena of his long-running TV show 24, but his character is frustratingly underwritten and plagued by a script stuffed with clichéd dialogue.

'Sicario' demonstrated US military versus drug cartels is exciting, but by the time 'Brothers Under Fire' revs up, one’s mind has already left the building.

Despite some intermittent thrills, the film struggles to generate any meaningful suspense with its thinly sketched characters and narrative predictability.

At times competent in its action sequences, Brothers Under Fire is otherwise unnoteworthy.
