Irumudi suffers from a huge male savior syndrome, telling you at every point that it’s just a man’s world and women just happen to be a part of it!

Irumudi takes a while to find its footing.

Now this is an important and deeply intentional memo for a country grappling with a profound challenge in women’s safety... Yet its message is undermined by the familiar cycles of gendered tropes and male saviourism that it falls back on.

...Irumudi is a solid, intense drama elevated by Ravi Teja’s restrained performance and a convincing father-daughter bond. But predictable villains and uneven emotional beats prevent it from becoming as powerful or shattering as it could have been.
