As much as “Shark Whisperer” tries to explore the warring perspectives between Ramsey and her naysayers, the documentary quickly becomes mired by Ramsey’s inability to see anyone’s side but her own.

Shark Whisperer is a stunning film, with memorable images of huge predatory creatures allowing Ramsey to hang off their fins and pet them, without ever seeming aggressive or threatening.

The film certainly has a slow start, but my interest certainly piqued once they started trying to dive with great whites. They pulled me in with the fantastical aspect, then kept me in it following their laborious effort to pass House Bill 553 into law.

Features amazing underwater photography and gets across its message that shark attacks are rare and that sharks are a key part of marine life.
