Hooked

Many forced, unconvincing situations...unfold as Emerson struggles to paint a meaningful social portrait, one that often feels surprisingly retro and clichd from a guy who seems pretty hip on YouTube.

It is clear after watching Hooked that Emerson needed a firm, guiding hand... While he may have begun the project with noble intentions, the finished product is a disjointed mess of clichés that do not have much new or insightful to say...

It may be far from perfect, but I was hooked from start to finish.

What began as a character study soon evolves into a cautionary tale that feels unfounded considering everything that we had just watched up until that point.
