Perhaps the makers thought horses were innately fascinating, and we'd just feel fortunate to spend 130 minutes in the presence of this one. Never before have I felt so misunderstood by a movie.

Eventually you may tire of the endless slow-motion sequences of horses leaping over fences, but even for those of us with little interest in the sport, it's hard not to get wrapped up in the drama.

The drama really takes off during the competitions, filmed with an aerobic camera that moves everywhere ... Even if you're not an equestrian, this is a knuckle-biter.
