An underrated gem, Angst is a fascinatingly morbid exercise depicting the grotesque capabilities of the disturbed. Beautifully photographed, it's an eerie exercise and puts Kargl in a unique category of one title auteurs.

There are films which put us in the perspective of a character, then there's Angst. Just so happens this character is one of the most terrifying cinema has to offer.

Gerald Kargl's home invasion splatter flick -- the only film he ever made -- is a fascinating experience despite the sordid subject matter.

It has Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) vibes.
