This is a terrible, preposterous film that is also horrible and hateful and has the worst soundtrack ever; the same four doomy notes played loudly and over and over.

A gobsmackingly awful British film -- awful in the way that somehow only British films can be: our TV drama, of whatever quality, is never as creaky, naive, badly written and flatulent as this.

A pleasingly sentimental British domestic drama.

At times, it feels as though Mr. Garbarski needs to lighten up, given that the screenplay is just too full of gaping holes — logistic and otherwise — for anyone to take his film that seriously.
