10 Attitudes

It is a film that touches on issues that impact everyone.

If West Hollywood really is this bad, why are there so many people around to make so many movies about it?

If this had a slightly more decent / clearer script, better camera work and an overall better budget, it could have easily become a classic among queer movies. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any of the mentioned things. While the plot represents the universal dating experience for both queer and straight people and has a nice range of possible scenarios of what can be wrong with a date, the conversations feel unnatural, probably mostly because of the chosen improvised style. The ending also ruined what could have been an okay watch for me - the cliché of the closeted high school bully getting a potential redemption might have still worked in 2001 but sure doesn't 20 years later.
