not only confounds the borderlines between domestic banality and covert war but also smuggles in much action and ultimately tragedy under the cover of easy comedy.

There's only really one joke- contrasting the super-cool Ryoo-hwan with his retarded alter ego. This actually works a lot better than it should.

“Secretly, Greatly” starts off as a comedy & veers off into a drama with a graphic, violent ending. Had the film stuck to one genre, the result would’ve been more effective. Still, it’s a worthwhile film that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
