Loggerheads

This has its sappy moments, but both women give wonderfully detailed performances, aided by Michael Learned as Hunt's mother and Chris Sarandon as the calm, cold minister.

The dramatic tension is nil. But the performances, particularly by Hunt (in a non-comedic role, for a change), are worth a look.

If there's one thing writer Tim Kirkman does extraordinarily well, it's creating complex, layered characters.
