Making It

As the 17-year-old Casanova, Kristoffer Tabori gives a performance that is smart and funny and even touching.

Like the adolescent it's about, Making It has an inadequate attention span. The strange thing, though, is that a fundamentally good movie seems to be trying to break through the B.S.

Like the movie itself, [Tabori's] performance is composed of details, all of which are accurate enough but which are never fitted together to make an especially meaningful experience.

It's careful not to be shocking, a powder-blue movie more interested in making dollars than sense.
