The movie is fun in a slick, predictable way -- it's old hat, but it's done with flash.

This movie make-over of a Stephen King chiller is adroit, stylish and empty-headed.

"Christine" is a gimmick movie, no great contribution to world cinema or automania.

Carpenter can't resist the special effects that eventually turn his film into just another carnival spook-house of trick effects.
