Monroe and Olivier never once seem comfortable together yet this is oddly appropriate for their characters’ deeply combative relationship. You can’t look away.

A man frequently heralded as cinema’s greatest actor gets paired with a woman frequently heralded as cinema’s greatest movie star, and guess who wins? Yup, the movie star.

An outdated, routine comedy with excellent performances by Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Monroe.

The movie is a touch too long and the ending, which is intended to be hopeful, is relatively disconcerting.
