At once a throwback to the days of Capra and Sturges and a wholly contempo item, Snow Days is smarter and more appealing than many other recent romantic comedies.

The film has refreshingly modest aims; it just wants to tell an enjoyable boy-meets-girl story.

Steeped in self-indulgence.

Pretty much a compendium of riffs that would have been old-hat in film school.
