Gulaab Gang

Madhuri Dixi's gang, on the other hand, is as make-believe as make-believe can get. Gulaab Gang is faking it.

Ultimately Gulaab Gang is a compelling ninety minute underdog-vs.-the-system action picture that has the misfortune to unfold over the course of two hours and twenty minutes.

This is no arty festival film - where Gulaab Gang succeeds is in its total embrace of the Bollywood style, with all its music and deliberate artifice.

While the film is largely entertaining, I wish the director had not bowed down to the pressure of turning Gulaab Gang into a typical Bollywood masala film.
