Cinematographer Lutz Konermann captures the backbreaking beauty of it all, while director Pacha finds her way into the very heart of this timeless ritual.

A sleepy take on back-breaking labour.

A mesmerising, lyrical work about endurance, craftsmanship and family dynamics, all unfolding in a stunningly bleak landscape, where abandoned bicycles and machinery pepper the ground.

The tender moments can't mask the strain on Pacha's subjects, who are forced away when monsoon season submerges the plains, only to return months later and start all over again.
