Something in the Water

Still, it’s a mostly fun late-summer film, would likely go down easy with a drinking game.

The female-first vibe is refreshing but Something In The Water is something old, nothing new, a lot that is borrowed and an eyeful of twinkly blue.

Something in the Water is competently filmed, with lots of propulsive underwater shark’s eye shots of the flailing legs of the bridesmaids. But there’s rather too much time spent watching the girls bobbing and bickering in the middle of the ocean.

On the downside, the central couple's issues seem bolted on from another story, the dialogue is often unconvincing and the low-budget sharks are very, very silly.
