Kate Muir

RTThe Times (UK)Sep 23, 2014

The adrenaline-fuelled view from bike cameras descends into crash-porn waiting to happen, as the film luxuriates in its own grief.

Donald Clarke

RTIrish TimesJun 18, 2014

Featuring a rich brown voiceover by Liam Neeson and sickening on-bike footage, Road tells terrible, exciting, tragic stories that fairly rattle the spine.

Mark Kermode

RTObserver (UK)Jun 15, 2014

Slathered in portentous narration by Liam Neeson and a ludicrously over-cranked and incessant score, both of which conspire to undercut, rather than enhance, the overall impact.

Filmed with incredible depth and zip by filmmakers Hewitt and Lavery, Road is an earnest, realistic acknowledgement of the sport, showing the impacts of the brothers' love for the sport.
