Meet Me in Montenegro

It's a story we've seen before, in countless cinematic iterations, but there's no denying that Holdridge and Saasen's hearts are in the right place.

This story has echoes of a Richard Linklater story, but peters out early on and an interminable voice-over grinds every other dramatic moment into dust.

It's a wonder the two lead characters in "Meet Me in Montenegro" manage to take in any of the vibrant sights, what with all the navel-gazing that permeates this mopey romantic comedy.

Holdridge and Saasen should get credit for making sure the obstacles to their happiness aren't romance-movie contrivances, but rather the sorts of things that happen to people while they're busy making other plans.
