Newman as the violent and passionate killer plays his colorful character with a flourish and heavy accent... [Bloom] delivers strongly, turning glibly from drama to comedy.

This is one of the most inept movies in memory. The dialogue is a buzz of clichés, the conception throughout vulgar and uninspired.
